For more than 20 years, the special diet bakery Poensgen has been producing gluten-free breads, pastries and flours in the handicraft tradition. Because of a family member suffering from coeliac, master baker Fritz Poensgen devised a comprehensive range for sufferers of coeliac and sprue, PKU and allergies, which he continuously expanded and improved. Fritz Poensgen adopted the following principle:
A gluten-free bread should look, smell
and taste like traditionally produced bread.
For many years, these breads have earned numerous gold, silver and bronze medals following inspections by the DLG and CMA. Quality is the top priority at the special diet bakery Poensgen. In order to acheive this, only home-produced, gluten-free flours with selected and inspected raw materials are used. Contamination is excluded by the implementation of pure, gluten-free production. Furthermore, the implementation of the hygienic requirements is guaranteed by the strict adherence to the HACCP guidelines. The guaranteed absence of gluten is confirmed through the regular inspection by an officially recognised laboratory.
The company is also certified according to the
"international food standard" (IFS).
